Metasequoia glyptostroboides, the very impressive primeval sequoia, is an interesting, stately conifer that can also get along in our domestic forests without any problems. It needs a sunny to partially shaded location with fresh to moist, nutrient-rich soil that should be acidic to alkaline. But it also thrives on moderately dry sandy soils.
The primeval sequoia tree is a deciduous conifer. It can withstand frost down to -30C without any problems.
